Are recurring payment models the future of digital services?

I've noticed that even smaller software companies and online platforms are introducing recurring payment options instead of lifetime access. Do you think this helps businesses maintain higher-quality products and customer support, or are users starting to miss the simplicity of paying once and being done with it?

From what I've seen, recurring models work best when they come with consistent improvements rather than just ongoing charges. While reading about this trend, I found an analysis on https://thereaderstone.com/why-subscription-businesses-are-replacing-one-time-sales/ that explains why more businesses are moving away from one-time sales. If companies continue adding value and remain transparent, many customers are willing to stay subscribed.

With deepest respect I acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional custodians of the land I live, work and practice on and pay respect to their elders, past, present and emerging.

I acknowledge the First Nations people of all lands as the original caretakers of country and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and culture and, in the spirit of reconciliation extend that respect to all First Nations people.

I bow down in reverence to their stories, traditions and living culture and commit to learning from, and working with, First Nations peoples in the spirit of reconciliation and access to justice.
